Death Scene Gone Deadly

I'm sure everyone's seen the recent commercials for the upcoming movie, "The Interview"; a movie about two dumbstruck TV hosts, Seth Rogen and James Franco, taking on a CIA mission to assassinate Kim Jong-un. There is a clip I will provide below, that shows the death scene of Kim Jong-un and North Korea is not taking lightly to this. Although it's "just a movie", researchers have come to about a 90% assurance that Sony's recent computer hack was the actions from North Koreans. Also, North Korea has sent out many threats pertaining to national security and possible terrorism acts. North Korea said that the Sony Pictures attack was "a righteous deed" and that the movie was an "act of war". The Sony hackers have placed a threat of another "9/11 attack" on any US movie theaters showing this movie. The attackers also promised a "Christmas gift", which are files on Michael Lynton, CEO for Sony Pictures but the content is unknown. Their threat read:
“The world will be full of fear. Remember the 11th of September 2001. We recommend you to keep yourself distant from the places at that time. (If your house is nearby, you’d better leave.) Whatever comes in the coming days is called by the greed of Sony Pictures Entertainment.”
This is an absolutely ridiculous level to stoop to over a movie. North Korea is taking it as a subtle hint to start a war but actually, with the actors the movie obtained, the movie has become one of the movies that everyone is planning to see. It throws in tons of humor and also a little bit of some history of the past/present day foreign affairs with North Korea. The actors, producers, screen writers or whomever should very well heed this warning. This is not something to play around with. North Korea is threatening the well-being of our national security and this is not to be taken lightly. If I were Sony Pictures, I'd keep this little movie to my self (with of course watching it in my own home because who wouldn't want to?).

CIA not so I?

In recent news, the CIA has been on the hot-seat. The Central Intelligence Agency might not be so intelligent after news of their torture skills have gotten out. Their brutal interrogation techniques don't reflect any sort of "intelligence" to me. Their techniques include but are not limited to: waterboarding, sexual assault, round-the-clock EIT, stuffing people in a coffin-like box, rectal infusion of "pureed" humus, nuts, pasta, and raisins (what a lovely tactic);  intimidation with a power drill, etc. Intelligence is part of the CIA's name! What they're doing doesn't show much intellectual abilities there. These people are dealing with some of the most dangerous terrorists and are trying to get as much information from them as possible. I understand that torturing these people until they're basically dead is just an oh so fabulous way of going about it, but why can't they use their minds to trick them into revealing things. The brain is powerful thing; so why not psychologically confuse and trick them? I would think that would be more suitable for this intelligence unit.

Gettin' Rid of the Big Gunz

The families of the Newtown victims have recently filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer of the rifle used in the shooting of the Sandy Hook Elementary school 2 years ago. 20-year old Adam Lanza entered the school on December 14th, 2012 armed with an AR-15 rifle and fatally shot 20 students and 6 staff members, then turned the gun on himself after his bloody attack. This AR-15 should not have been sold to anyone in the public. It is a military rifle and should only be used in that sense. Someone in the community should not have any sort of access to buying a rifle that dangerous. Someone especially should not even own this weapon knowing that they have a person in their home with mental issues. I'm not saying that people shouldn't own any guns, but they shouldn't be splayed out to have easy accessibility; also the gun owners really don't need that type of military gun. As previously stated, I am not against citizens owning guns. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. But, those people who are killing people (if they have mental aliments) shouldn't have easy accessibility like Adam Lanza did. It breaks my heart that this tragedy occurred. My baby sister is around the ages of those children who passed away; just thinking that makes my heart hurt. The teachers and staff that put the children before themselves were complete saints, and tried what they could to protect those children. I understand that people want stricter gun laws after this incident; but it's not the gun that pulls the trigger.

"All Hail to the King of Innocence and Manipulation"?

This lovely mug-shot of Charles Watson was taken in 1969, after being arrested and imprisoned for the murders of Tate and LaBianca. Manson's fiancée has been trying profusely to get her loving man out of prison. This has been her latest Facebook update. Manson himself has never committed any kind of murder; but that doesn't make him innocent. He's manipulated the "Manson Family" into doing everything for him. Once the Manson Family and Charlie were brought into court for these murders, the judge had decided that Manson should also go to prison because he deserved to carry the burden of all the murders his cult had committed. Whomever thinks that Charles Manson is innocent, you are quite sadly mistaken. This man has an aura that sucks you in and never lets you out. It's like anyone he comes in contact with falls under his sadist spell. Star (the alias of Afton Burton) will never cease in trying to get Manson out of prison. She's even gone as far as critiquing the case of the Tate-LaBianca murders. Star has said that Manson's height was wrong in the court saying that on his driver's license his height was 5'7, but the prosecutor whom took Manson's height read it off as that he was 5'2. All in all, is almost a waste of time, a sad excuse for passing the hours because Charlie, even on his best day, will never see the outside of the Corcoran prison. Whatever is left of the sand inside of his hourglass is sure to run out, but it only slithers away while he looks at the nice cold walls in his cell and taints the minds of who's ever left in his "family".

The "Killer" Charisma Will Never Cease to Exist

Charles Manson's charisma is almost like the Twinkie. It ceased to exist for a small amount of time, but then it appeared again. His fatal attraction with Afton Burton is just one of the many manipulations he's bred. He's been able to manipulate, seduce, and brainwash many people; women especially. Even in the Sixties he had the "vibes" or aura, as our now modern people call it, where many kids would want to follow him. With his chilling charisma and undeniable gravitational vibes, people are sucked into his cultic vortex of "theories". Even behind the Corcoran, Californian prison bars, he's still been able to have a grasp on the outside world. When Burton was a teenager (she began a relationship with Manson when she was just 17), she began showing rebellious behaviors towards her Baptist and Christian parents, whom found this very out of the ordinary. Afton Burton began to smoke marijuana, eat mushrooms, skip the weekly Sunday masses, not crushing her parents' dream of being a preacher's wife. Rather, she wanted to be betrothed to an insane manipulator, a person with the characteristics of schadenfreude and sadism. The term "schadenfreude" is German for a person who takes pleasure from causing other people pain. It literally means "harm-joy"; "schaden"- harm and "freude"-joy. Whether she's under Manson's brainwashing or his oh so charming prison romance, she still believes in her 80 year-old sweetheart's innocence. Although he didn't exactly touch or inflict any sort of physical pain on someone, he enjoyed the emotional gratification from having the "Manson Family" carry out his every dirty deed. That's why the jury decided that he should carry the burden of all the murders. He wanted to trigger a race war, something that would never begin to happen. He believed that when he started this Apocalyptic race war, he and the Manson Family would take refuge in the desert, where they would come back to what was left of civilization unscathed and to take control. Unfortunately for little Charlie, this would never happen. Too bad Afton Burton is too naïve and "in love" to carry about what was left of Helter Skelter.. at least for now.

No More Helter Skelter?

Charles Manson has appeared to let his "Helter Skelter" scenario die down. His new found love is  "ATWA" (air, trees, water, animals), which is of same importance to his "wife" Afton Burton (environmentalist). For those not sure of what the Helter Skelter scenario is, it is Manson's theory that blacks and whites would fight an apocalyptic war over racial tension. "The core of this philosophy was a kind of Armageddon. Charlie preached that the black man was going to rise up and start killing the whites and turn the cities in to an inferno of racial revenge. The black man would win this war, but wouldn't be able to hang onto the power he seized because of innate inferiority."  Manson's plan was to recruit young white Americans to join him. He and the "Manson Family", his cult, would produce songs that would be a subtle hint to join them.
Charles Manson came up with the theory of "Helter Skelter" by hearing the Beatles song, which was named exactly that. While Charlie was in jail for trying to cash a fake US Treasury check, an inmate taught him how to play guitar, and from there on he became obsessed with the Beatles. After hearing the song, he also looked into The Book of Revelations, which helped him concoct the theory of Helter Skleter.
But, now that Charles Manson is a "changed man", does that mean he's switched to the good side, as Afton Burton thinks? I guess we will never know, but his love for her could be as true as saying that he was never a manipulator.

Rock, Paper, Hammer?

The Bosnian community in St. Louis is convinced that the murder of Bosnian refugee, Zemir Begic, was a hate crime. Not only that, but they think it's somehow connected to Ferguson. I don't knock the factor of it being a hate crime, but I do think that being bludgeoned with hammers is not connected to the shooting and death of Michael Brown. Sunday, 1:15am, Begic, his fiancee, and one other male passenger were driving the streets of St. Louis. As the story goes, a group of teenagers armed with hammers ran at the vehicle beating it with multiple times. Begic got out of his vehicle to protect his fiancee, and ended up being bludgeoned with hammers to the point of dying when they reached the hospital. I think it's disgusting that a group of teenagers, my age, would even think of killing people like this. It's insane and unpalatable that they could do this. I'm not quite sure if it was a targeted hate crime, because the attack was spontaneous on them and it didn't seem like it was executed in the way that made them target a certain race.

North Korea No Laughs?

We all know comedian actors, Seth Rogen and James Franco. Their upcoming movie, "The Interview" (which is coming to theaters December 25th), is about two talk show hosts who've been chosen to interview Kim Jong Un, with the CIA's intention of "taking him out". The movie itself is suppose to be a comical enjoyment, but it appears as though North Korea had not found it as even laughable. Sony Entertainment was hacked over the long Thanksgiving weekend by the "GOP" or the "Guardians of Peace"; this group leaked the movies "Fury", the remake of  "Annie", "To Write Love on Her Arms", "Mr. Turner", and "Still Alice". The FBI believes that this is North Korea's "cyber-attack" on the industry for creating a film about the demise of their leader. Personally, this is ridiculous. Entertainment studios consistently create movies about what's gone on in our history-past or present. There's "Red Dawn", about the invasion of America by North Korea, and you don't see us having a little hissy fit over the fact that there's a movie about a North Korean invasion. When it comes to movies like these, it's all about the content and the money. People will be creating movies that peak the interest of the audience."The Interview" is one of those movies. But to hack into an entertainment studio's computers and leak their movies is just ridiculous. I don't see any gain from that other than the very happy pirate-ers that download these movies. To be completely honest, the movie looks beyond funny and does not seem to harsh the image of Kim Jong Un. It's more of a comedy on the fact that the two television hosts have no idea how to complete a CIA mission.

The Ugly Truth

Everyone is well aware of the death of Michael Brown and everything with Ferguson. Personally, my opinion may not be what everyone wants to hear. It's kind of an ugly truth I suppose. The entirety of this case is that it has turned into a "racial" thing. That's the ugly truth here. Nobody is really caring that somebody has died; it's turned into a fact that it was a white police officer that "murdered" a black teenager. The thing that bothers me the most is the fact that people are being slammed and bashed for having an opinion on this trial. I've personally seen people attacking people personally and not their argument. That is not how you debate and if anyone attended a public speaking class, I'm sure they'd be well aware of this. Just because I'm a white female saying that I agree with the decision I'm automatically called a "racist" and other rude names. That's not fair at all. My take on it goes from the standpoint of that I DO NOT CARE what race you are. If you're partaking in criminal/suspicious activity, you better expect that you will get police confrontation and something will be done about it. Do I believe that Wilson should've fired at Brown 12 times? No, I don't think anyone should be shot at that many times if they start to surrender. But, if a man whom is bigger than me physically, because that is what he is, he is not a "little kid" as some people were saying; came running at me, then you better believe that I will point my gun at you and take you down. Not because I want to, but because I'm ensuring that I'm going back to my family at the end of the night. The people of Ferguson looting their communities, burning the American flag and whatnot is not a "protest". They're acting like animals out there and that is the most pointless thing of all. What do you gain by ruining your own community? They're not going back on the decision. This entire thing has just turned into a huge racial issue that causes escalating debates, rude comments, and ridiculous fights. I don't bash anyone for their opinion, so I expect the same. I repeat that I do not feel offended by anyone's opinions because that's how they feel about the case and I really respect that. Don't make rude comments either because everyone is entitled to an opinion. There is no need to get defensive over a case you cannot change.

The only thing this Frat House will take a shot of; is Grief

Unfortunately, Nolan Burch, graduate of Canisius high school and University of West Virginia student passed away November 12th. His family decided two days later to take him off of life support, in which he passed on shortly after. The first responders at the scene notified that Nolan was unresponsive and not breathing. Before the "tragic catastrophic medical emergency" occurred, he tweeted earlier in the day, "It's about to be a very eventful night to say the least." Who would've thought that the 18 year old freshman would be prophesizing his own demise?
Nolan was described as a "fun-loving" guy and very social. The people with the bubbly personalities are usually the ones who go on to college and decide to join fraternities and sororities. A lot of college students drink and go out. It's just what they do. Especially when they're dorming and living on their own. People in high school do the same; going out on weekends and partying thinking nothing will ever happen. I was once like that too. I just didn't care and I went out and did what I wanted not thinking that anything would ever happen to me. Kids abuse alcohol all of the time. Just take a look at social media. There's enough embarrassing, drunk and sloppy pictures to go around. I'm quite happy that I got out of that. It's sad to say that some people take drinking to the extreme limits and the people that they "party" with, let them do it. Those people in the frat house are all enablers. They enable people to exceed their "limit" and that's when things like this happen. If the person drinking and their friends came up with a limit as to how much they would let each other drink that night, maybe this wouldn't have happened. I wasn't there so I couldn't tell you if that would even work.
The part that gets to me the most is the fact that the Kappa Sigma fraternity wasn't even recognized as a "frat" at WVU. Burch was pledging for the fraternity and that's probably where the problem started. For years in high schools (around the 80's) and in colleges, frats and sororities would pledge people to join and those people would have to go through a series of "activities" I suppose, that involved them doing things that would either hurt/make sick, embarrass themselves, or benefit the group. This could possibly be the reason for him excessively drinking that night. Could it have been the freeing and partying effects of college, or was it to get the "in" with the Kappa Sigmas?

Would you like the "Ball and Chain" with those handcuffs?

Someone's crazy in love...

Charles Manson, the infamous cult creator and murderer, whom is now 80 years old, as gotten his marriage license recently. Manson is "enagaged" to a 26-year-old psychotic female named Afton Burton, (now known as Star), who believes that she will be able to get Manson out of prison. The biggest joke of all is stating that he had nothing to do with the serial murders in August 1969. I've never heard of a more ridiculous thing. Manson is serving a lifetime sentence and the fact that a girl, whom hasn't even lived out her 20's yet, is getting married to one of the most atrocious beings that has ever walked this Earth. If you are not familiar with Charles Manson's cult, you may be more familiar with the murder of Sharon Tate, the 8 and a half-month pregnant model. She was murdered in her home along with four others by what was known as the "Manson Family."
This girl may thing that Manson is this (sickening) sweet man, that loves her, and does whatever makes her so about it; but I will bet on anything this is some ploy. I never put anything past anyone, and I would never put anything especially past this man. Burton should be aware of how cynical and masochistic this man is. I can't help but be fascinated by both of their minds. Could it be an adrenaline rush to Burton, to be engaged to a sociopath? I guess we will never know. I would think he would rather be hearing the rattling gates of Hell before he's hear the chime of wedding bells.

We Are the Avatar

For those who are not familiar with my term of "avatar", it is not the term that I'm using to describe some picture or person as a video game character. "Avatar" means that it is a manifestation of a deity or released soul in bodily form on earth. In the news, they've recently discovered that plants have their own "internet highway" in the form of mycelia. Mycelia are in the bottom parts of fungi, informally known as a mushroom. These little "wires" connect all plants together in helping create benefits for both the plants and fungi. Ever hear of the movie Avatar? James Cameron, the creator of the movie, portrays this land in which every living thing is connected. From the plants, to the animals, to the avatars. In reality, this entire concept may not be so far fetched. All of the plant organisms are connected; both now and in the movie. The plant organisms all communicate together by "some kind of electro-chemical communication between the roots of trees" . Today, plants are doing the exact same thing. They are working together, these little mycellium are spread throughout the soil. We are all aware that plant life is actually alive; but not so much in the sense that it can communicate with other plant life and connect with other plants. Sounds more like a weird dating site than it does as a "wood wide web." So, the question we ask ourselves is, are we the avatar? Are we just a more complex version of the plant? They do the same as we do, breathe, consume some sort of nutrition, and now they communicate. Maybe we are reincarnated into plant life. That is the point of the "avatar". Watch the movie and then compare; I could be blogging something that's either a "weeded" truth, or a "mossy" theory.

McConnell's Gun grabbing, Coal bashing, Republican-having, Kentucky

After the elections yesterday, Mitch McConnell took the win. Alison Grimes stated that it was "worth the fight" against the long time-leading senator of Kentucky. If you've been following my blog lately, we all know that the Kentuckians were in a bind; not knowing whether they wanted to stick with McConnell's ways or to take a chance on the inexperienced Democrat with a somewhat promising future. It is a known fact that McConnell's main argument was turning Grimes into an "Obama" puppet for Kentucky. He created arguments against Grimes that were popular with Kentucky. For example; that Grimes was against the coal (a huge part of Kentucky's economy) and gun rights (Grimes interestingly enough retaliated against). So, I guess it's all about what you know about your state to gain the win. After being in the Senate for so long, McConnell definitely had the advantage. But, kudos to Grimes for putting up a riling and amusing fight against him. Someone whom is nowhere near close to his experience definitely showed some determination on her part. It appears now that Republicans are now the majority of the Senate. The new posed question is, will Obama be as excited about this new majority as they are?

Monday, November 3, 2014

Oh McConnell, You Can Do Better Than That!

McConnell appears to be scrounging for any argument to pin Alison Grimes as Obama. He just repeats the same argument using different assertions about her. Maybe he's just a bit scared that a Democrat is rising to the occasion against him. The south appears to be a bit warmer now that the feud between the two is becoming personal. Mitch McConnell went as far as to create his argument against Grimes to target her father, a restaurant owner whom gives his employees a "low wage". Sure, that was definitely a dig towards her but she retaliated with one of her own. She argued that McConnell "will say anything" to get elected. This is quite true actually; McConnell has said a lot of things that haven't really helped himself during his campaigning. What McConnell had was an ad hominem against Grimes. He was attacking her personally, and not debating the issues she was giving. Seems to me that McConnell in running into a corner and only spewing out what he thinks will save that nice cozy senate seat for himself.

Hail to another era of McConnell

It seems to be that the Republicans will be winning this election. Grimes held up a great fight against now majority leader, Mitch McConnell. McConnell has a strong lead of four points-ahead of Alison Grimes. The gender gap has now vanished between the two seeing as McConnell is gaining votes from both men and women. Howard Koplowitz of the International Business Times wrote, "Not only does McConnell still attract support from many more Democrats than Grimes receives from Republicans, but the gender gap has pretty much vanished with McConnell now leading Grimes among both men and women.”
So, McConnell pretty much has the senate seat to call his own (again).
It's not only midterms for Kentucky; it's midterm elections for many states in the US. Go out and vote to show your support for your candidate. Good luck to all those running.

Constantine Quarantine

As we all know, Ebola has been in the middle of the stage for just about every news channel on TV. The few people from the United States that were infected with Ebola were put into a quarantine that is supposed to last about 21 days. Now, sure, the quarantine is an effective precaution to stop this spread of Ebola. But, do the people of the US understand that it is NOT an airborne disease? This is not the movie Outbreak. Just by sitting in a movie theater two rows in front of a person who could possibly have Ebola does not mean that you will catch it. This is why the quarantine exists. For example, in nursing homes bacterial infections like Clostridium Difficle (C. Diff) can be caught by physical contact. This is why outside of the person's or persons' room, we place a green contact precautions sign on the outside so people know that we should not get in their room and just cop a feel on them or anything in the room. So, I understand that this quarantine is going on. Sure, we don't want half of the United States to be ridden with Ebola. But the least we can do is make it more comfortable for the person in the quarantine. The nurse whom went to Liberia complained about how she had "no contact" with the rest of the world. That's the point of a quarantine. She has a cell phone, she has plenty of "contact" with the world. Also, people need to realize that symptoms of Ebola take quite a bit of time to become prominent. It's not like we're going to discover that the a person has Ebola within 2 days. The reason she was put into quarantine in the first place was because she was a nurse traveling from Liberia, that was experiencing an outbreak of Ebola.

But Who Could Put a Pricetag on a Democrat?

Looks like the Democrats found some money to blow in the elections. I guess their new found confidence with the Clintons showing up really gave them the boost they needed. They sure put the reverse on taking out their money, and now they've jumped back on the track and added some more. Will this put the Democrats in the fast lane ahead? Or, will McConnell's ads wipe out his now endorsed competition?

Where, oh where, are your votes, Mr. McConnell?

Looks like the Kentucky elections spiced up a bit over the last few weeks. Alison Grimes has Mitch McConnell, not too far, but far enough to trail behind her. Grimes has about 46 percent of votes while McConnell trails in with 44 percent of votes in Kentucky. This is definitely out of the ordinary for the citizens of Kentucky. Republican power is the majority of the state. Being that a Democrat is in the lead is a huge deal right now. The thing is, Kentuckians aren't really for a Democrat being large and in charge, nor do they want McConnell to stick around for more. About 50% of the people in Kentucky polled in saying that McConnell needed to be replaced. It seems to be that McConnell's biggest punch-line is failing miserably. He is trying to convince Kentuckians that Grimes would a be "rubber stamp for Obama." Grimes has retaliated in the (from what I see) greatest ways to really dig his grave deeper in the elections. Yet, other sources say that Grimes "line-leader" status is only a simple mishap; that it's not really accountable. Being that the elections are a week away from tomorrow, this is a complete toss up. So, who will it be? The hesitant but agreeable Democrat, or the unwanted but all-too-familiar Republican?

Hilary Clinton Sirens off the "Women" Alarm in Kentucky Elections

Clintons Make a Visit

Hilary Clinton made a campaign appearance on October 15th to promote and create interest in candidate minority, Alison Grimes. Clinton went on stating that the politicians in Kentucky now were the cause of gridlock and a stagnant economy. She also went on to talk about raising minimum wage and gaining an equal pay between men and women. To me, this is signaling out to women in Kentucky. Clinton questioned, "Isn't it amazing that it's 2014, and we are still debating whether women deserve equal pay for equal work?" She answered her what seemed to be rhetorical question with, "If there's only one reason that will motivate you to go vote in the next 20 days, put that at the top of the list." This is definitely calling out to working women in Kentucky. Why? Because Alison Grimes is a woman. The logic here is, if you're going to vote for someone, you want someone relatable. Someone who can help out your issues in the economy and make your life a smoother sail. In being that Alison Grimes is a woman and with Hilary Clinton's help, it should "siren" off to women in Kentucky to place their votes for her.

Coal Bashing, Gun Grabbing Kentucky

The Midterm Election

Kentucky 2014

The two candidates are Mitch McConnell, Republican and Democrat Alison Grimes. Now, Kentucky has always had a Republican senator, so having a Democrat being close in polls with a Republican definitely raises some eyebrows. Kentucky is a coal state; so, McConnell actually formed an ad stating that since Grimes was a Democrat she agreed with everything Obama did or stood for. Not only that, but he cleverly added that Grimes was against coal which would obviously cause some sort of reaction against her. Grimes retaliated against McConnell with a TV ad of her at a shooting range; also talking about how she doesn't completely agree with all democratic views of Obama. My favorite part of the entire ad was a picture of McConnell improperly holding a rifle; so she added "This is a correct way to hold a gun". It was a slap in the face to McConnell and it also proved that she was able to stand up against the competition and get her views out there. Unfortunately, the democrats think they're going to lose the race and they actually pulled out all money in Alison Grimes' campaign. What I've realized in each election is that the candidates mostly bash their competitors in any ad they create. They always say that they won't do what the other is doing or that they will do what the other isn't. Personally, if I'm going to vote for you, I want to know what you are going to do for me. How am I going to benefit from you becoming the senator of my state? Your 30 second commercial talking about what the other is doing wrong or isn't doing at all doesn't do much for me.
